Mount Qingcheng

Mount Qingcheng is one of the places where Taoism came into being. It lies in Guan Xian County, Shichuan Province and has altogether 36 mountains and 108 famous sights. It commands the vast expanse of Chuanxi Plain. Once Yellow Emperor, the ancester of all Chinese, came here to study Taoism with Ning Fengzhi. Zhang Daoling, the Heavenly Teacher, pursued Tao in the mountains. Zhao Yi, of Shui dynasty, and Du Guangting, of Tang dynasty, both came here to be hermits.
