Description
This painting 访友画 was made by Shang Rui 上睿 (1634―?), Qing Dynasty. He was born in Jiangsu Province. As a monk he became an expert in painting mountains, rivers and lakes. His painting lines are concise and lively, skillful, mostly in imitation of Tang skill, to enhance artistic expression from a poem. This painting scroll depicts water expansion surrounded by green mountains where a hermit friend is located.
