Sunlight streams on the river stones. Li T'ai-po Lu Shan has its name recorded in the book History Records, Hequ Volume which dates back as early as 2,000 years ago.Lu Shan is rich in historic and cultural contents. Bordering the Yangtze River to the north and facing the broad Boyang Lake, Lu Shan suddenly stands up and shoots upwards lonely in the terrace between them, much like a foreign celestial body accidentally comes visiting and forget to return. Peaks upon peaks, cluster after clusters, Lu Shan extends around 300 square miles. The main peak Big Hanyang pierces upward at the height of 1,474 meters above the sea level. Other peaks which have the names recorded accounts for 171. Among them Shang Xiao Peak, Double Sword Peak, Nine Layer Wall, Li Tou Needlehead, etc, each posing in a very different gestures, some imposing, some flying in cloud, some competing to catch people's eyes. Between mountain ranges rip currents and water falls can be beheld everywhere, each in rich of different characteristics. Hills are rich in green color to such extent that the intense green drops seem to trickle down. In four seasons the Lu Shan seems to like a fine woven brocade. Zigzagging rivers, together with vast space lakes, steep peaks, altogether form a beautiful landscape. The vast broad lakes surrounding Lu Shan give the moderate
coolness in summer days and rich rain water. Cloud and mist wreathes and
change their gesture in a constant rhythm. Three out of four you may encounter
days with hills fading into the mists. Lu Shan is also called "The Palace Housing Immortals" because as early as A.D. 317 alchemists began their activities here. Buddhism and Taoism, taking advantages of the famous mountains and waterfalls, promoted their theory and influence. The accomplished Buddhist Hui Yuan(A.D.334 through A.D. 416) constructed the Donglin Temple and from there the Buddhism ideas and practicing methods featuring Chinese characteristics began to be popular. Lu Shan thus becomes a very important religion tourist resorts. In the long history, many famous scholars, poets leaved
their passions, enthusiasm and sighs towards Lu Shan in their works and
people can find as more as 40,000 pieces of poem, vocable praising Lu
Shan. Some literator also chose Lu Shan as their retreat place. The White-Deer
Library House is the place Li Bo once retreated to read book there. Zhu
Xi, the famous idealist in Song Dynasty, developed his theory and taught
his students also in the library which later regarded as the feudalism
culture education center and symbol. Product
